What We Do

The primary objective of the USA is to create resources and support that eliminate barriers that hinder the advancement of Somali people in Minnesota; to empower them to make systemic changes; and to promote democratic principles and ideology abroad.

Our mission is to promote system changes and strengthen communities through civic engagement, education, leadership, and economic development.

Lead a collaborative effort involving states, organizations, agencies, and businesses to invest in their people, grow their economic and health vitality, and promote innovative leadership.

Short Term Objectives

  • To  promote and  create policies that will support the Somali American Diaspora and their interests both here and in Somalia. 
  • Create awareness and seek support for  our current struggles that are impacting our economic and political development both here and in Somalia. 
  • Create opportunities to bring together like minded Somali Americans to connect and network and discuss current events that have impacted us locally and internationally.

Long Term Objectives

  • Create a fund to support projects and programs back home
  • Build a strong relationship with Washington D.C lawmakers that will impact our interests both locally and in Somalia.
